Mechanical and fatigue tests and acoustic and strain gauge measurements

Go back to the list

BOSMAL performs, for products and components in the railway sector, mechanical and fatigue tests (resistance to vibrations, mechanical shocks, impacts, falls, ice block impacts, variable dynamic loads) as well as acoustic and strain gauge measurements.

Resistance to vibrations and mechanical shocks (of objects such as: machinery and equipment; parts, assemblies of machinery and equipment; transport packaging; components, assemblies of electrical and electronic equipment)

  • according to EN 60068-2-6, EN 60068-2-64, EN 60068-2-27, EN 50125-3 and other standards

Examples of photographs of test apparatus and tested objects in the railway sector, during vibration tests

Fatigue tests – resistance to alternating mechanical loads on components and structures in uniaxial loading systems as well as in complex loading systems, according to standards within and beyond the AB 128 accreditation scope

Railway standards (examples):

  • Sleepers and turnout sleepers: EN 13230-2, EN 13230-3, EN 13230-4, EN 13230-5
  • Fixing systems: PN-EN 13146-1, PN-EN 13146-2, PN-EN 13146-3, PN-EN 13146-4

Static strength, dynamic load tests

  • of components and structures in uniaxial load systems as well as in complex load systems, according to standards within and beyond the AB 128 scope of accreditation

Railway standards (examples):

  • Sleepers and turnout sleepers: EN 13230-2, EN 13230-3, EN 13230-4, EN 13230-5
  • Fixing systems: EN 13146-10

Mechanical tests such as torsion, bending, breaking, load-strain relationships

  • parts, assemblies and components of machines and other structural elements, according to standards within and outside the scope of accreditation

Railway standards (examples):

  • Mechanical testing of contact wires: PN-ISO 7800, PN-ISO 7801, PN-ISO 7802
  • Screw and cylindrical springs: PN-88-M-80700, PN-81-K-88171

Ec test: impacts caused by careless handling of products. Drop and overturn test and one free fall test (objects such as: machinery and equipment; parts, assemblies of machinery and equipment; transport packaging; components, assemblies of electrical and electronic equipment)

  • according to EN 60068-2-31
